“I had no idea there was so much to learn about home hardening. This is a fantastic service for the residents of Agoura Hills, and I encourage all residents to do their part in wildfire mitigation and get their home assessed.”
Mayor Pro Tem Jeremy Wolf said on a recent assessment of his home.
FREE Home Wildfire Assessments:
The Agoura Hills Home Wildfire Assessment Program is provided free of charge thanks to the Agoura Hills Fire Safe Council and our partners. Upon request, a volunteer Wildfire Assessor will visit the home, conduct a guided walk-through with the resident, provide real-time wildfire mitigation feedback, and address any questions or concerns specific to the property. A detailed assessment report outlining potential wildfire risks will be provided to the resident.
Experiments, models, and post-fire studies have shown homes ignite due to the condition of the home and everything around it, up to 100 feet from the foundation. This is called the Home Ignition Zone (HIZ).
On-site Evaluation with One-on-One Education:
These evaluations are free on-site consultations that assess your home’s vulnerability to wildfire—both the structure and the surrounding landscaping—and provide a personalized report of recommendations. Let a trained eye evaluate wildfire threats to your home.
It’s easy to request your FREE evaluation:
