Grants Help Extend Free Vent Mesh Program

Relative Cost vs Priority

The good news and the bad news.

On September 2, 2025, the Agoura Hills Fire Safe Council (AHFSC), in partnership with the City of Agoura Hills, announced the launch of a Home Hardening Program designed to help residents protect their homes from the threat of wildfires.

As part of this program, Agoura Hills residents receive free ember-resistant vent mesh to harden their homes against ember intrusion.

Ordering is done online, and residents pickup their mesh on the 1st Saturday and the 3rd Thursday of each month in the parking lot of City Hall. This program is only available to Agoura Hills residents.

We are happy to announce that the program has been very successful. However, due to its success we have been running low on mesh inventory. The AHFSC just place a mesh order which has now depleted the original grant from the City. This new order should last us for a few more months.

So be sure to get your order in, and pick up your mesh before we run out.

The AHFSC is working hard to secure grants to keep this successful program alive.

We would like to thank Supervisor Lindsey Horvath’s Office for a recent grant we received that will extend the program a couple of months.

AHFSC was also awarded funds from the City of Agoura Hills 2026-2027 Community Outreach Grant Program.

Thank you Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and the City of Agoura Hills for making wildfire mitigation a priority for the residents of Agoura Hills.
